Kathmandu, Sept 18:<\/strong> Light to moderate rainfall is expected in several parts of the country today, with the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in some areas, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Division said light to moderate rain is likely at some places in the mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. A few mountainous areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces may also receive rainfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Similarly, many places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces are likely to experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Such weather is also possible at some places in the hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A few places in the Tarai are also likely to receive light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Heavy rainfall is possible at one or two places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds, with a partial influence of westerly winds.
