{"id":435457,"date":"2026-09-05T13:22:22","date_gmt":"2026-09-05T07:37:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/?p=435457"},"modified":"2026-09-05T13:22:23","modified_gmt":"2026-09-05T07:37:23","slug":"dna-sample-collection-centre-set-up-in-flood-hit-nuwakot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/2026\/09\/05\/435457.html","title":{"rendered":"DNA sample collection centre set up in flood-hit Nuwakot"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Trishuli:<\/strong> Nepal Police have set up a DNA sample collection centre in Bidur, Nuwakot, to help identify bodies recovered following the floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, family members of people reported missing from Rasuwa and Nuwakot had to travel to Kathmandu to provide DNA samples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputy Inspector General of Police Dr Damodar Paudel said the centre was established at the Nepal Police Hospital in Bidur to make it easier for families to provide samples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said DNA samples from relatives of missing people would help establish the identities of bodies recovered from the flood-hit areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Dr Paudel, 2,564 applications have been received in Nuwakot reporting people missing in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river floods.
