Issuing an &#8216;Editorial Directive Relating to Positive, Humanitarian and Accountable Communications- 2083 BS&#8217; on Friday, the media content regulatory body has urged media to prioritise the dissemination of fact-based and verified content. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the Directive, information about deaths, injuries, missing, damage, risky zones and rescues should be authentic or be verified by other reliable sources before releasing it. The Council advises that ghastly scenes or images of mutilated bodies or severely injured bodies, visible faces of the deceased, scenes showing intense suffering, and highly personal moments involving grieving families or children should generally be avoided in publication or broadcast. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If sensitive or graphic scenes have to be used due to exceptional public interest, the Council advises journalists and media houses to protect the faces of those involved, limit the view, provide pre-warnings, and use less harmful alternative images or footage wherever possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Council has wanted journalists and media houses to abide by the relevant code of conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RSS<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu: The Press Council Nepal has urged journalists and media houses to refrain from disseminating content that features deadly and disturbing clips.
