Gulmi, Aug 22: The ‘Dhurkot mini-‘Great Wall’ connecting two historic locations Dhurkotkot and Budhikot has become a new tourist destination in the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The stone structure built by Dhurkot Rural Municipality, resembling the world-famous Great Wall of China, is attracting increasing attention from domestic and foreign tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rural municipality has named the footpath built on a stone wall as ‘Dhurkot Great Wall’. It is located in ward no. 6 of the Municipality. The structure also offers a science view of the mountain ranges including Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhupal Pokharel, Chair of Dhurkot Rural Municipality, said the construction of the Great Wall has helped promote tourism in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The municipality is also working to develop the tourist area in an integrated manner by constructing the historical Dhurkotkot and Museum, Bichitra Cave, Budhikot Great Wall, and Martyrs Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The structure was built at a total cost of Rs 32.3 million, with 30 per cent contribution from the federal government, and the remaining by the rural municipality.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
