Ghorahi, Aug 17:<\/strong> Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya is set to seek a vote of confidence from the Provincial Assembly today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Provincial Assembly meeting has been scheduled for 1 pm. At the start of the session, the Speaker will read out letters received from the Office of the Province Chief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chief Minister Acharya will then table a proposal seeking a vote of confidence, along with a statement explaining the basis for seeking the assembly’s support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The proposal will be followed by deliberations in the assembly. Chief Minister Acharya will respond to questions and concerns raised by provincial lawmakers before the Speaker puts the motion to a vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Lumbini Provincial Assembly has 83 members, meaning Acharya needs the support of at least 42 lawmakers to secure a majority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Acharya is seeking the vote after the Nepali Congress withdrew its support for the provincial government.
