Chitwan: Two new cases of dengue and six cases of scrub typhus were reported in Chitwan district in the month of Sawan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Public Health Office, a case of dengue was confirmed in Kalika Municipality and the next one in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality in the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Likewise, six cases of scrub typhus were confirmed, including five in Bharatpur Metropolitan City and one in Ratnanagar Municipality, the Office shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Similarly, two people from other districts coming to Chitwan for treatment were also infected with dengue and 28 with scrub typhus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With this, the district recorded four cases of dengue and 34 cases of scrub typhus in total in the month of Sawan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Vector Control Inspector of the Office, Ram KC, said that no death case was reported during the period, but the cases have surged during the rainy season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Currently, the Office has launched a ‘search and destroy’ initiative against larvae in coordination with the local levels.
