{"id":432834,"date":"2026-07-20T08:19:39","date_gmt":"2026-07-20T02:34:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/?p=432834"},"modified":"2026-07-20T08:19:40","modified_gmt":"2026-07-20T02:34:40","slug":"landslides-block-prithvi-highway-at-phisling-traffic-restoration-underway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/2026\/07\/20\/432834.html","title":{"rendered":"Landslides Block Prithvi Highway at Phisling, Traffic Restoration Underway"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chitwan, July 20:<\/strong> Vehicular movement along a section of the Prithvi Highway has been disrupted after landslides struck Panidhara and Chumkhola in Phisling of Ichchakamana Rural Municipality-2 early Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The landslides occurred at around 2:20 am, completely blocking the highway and halting traffic in the affected section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief of the District Police Office, Chitwan, Superintendent of Police Rameshwor Poudel, said efforts are underway to clear the debris, with authorities aiming to restore traffic by around 9:00 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latest disruption comes after local authorities suspended vehicular movement on the Narayangadh\u2013Muglin road section and the Prithvi Highway from 10:00 pm on Sunday due to the heightened risk of landslides and other rain-induced disasters during the ongoing monsoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officials said the roads will be reopened once the landslide debris is removed and travel is considered safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, traffic heading towards Pokhara via the Narayangadh\u2013Muglin road has not been affected by the obstruction.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chitwan, July 20: Vehicular movement along a section of the Prithvi Highway has been disrupted after landslides struck Panidhara and Chumkhola in Phisling of Ichchakamana Rural Municipality-2 early Monday morning.
