However, the disease continues to pose a significant threat in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, with Kavrepalanchok emerging as another major hotspot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior Veterinary Officer Dr. Mukul Upadhyay said surveillance has been intensified in high-risk areas, with federal and local governments working together to prevent further spread of the virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Department data show that, as part of the nationwide containment campaign, authorities have culled more than <strong>754,500 birds<\/strong>, destroyed over <strong>1.09 million eggs<\/strong>, and disposed of approximately <strong>243,635 kilograms of poultry feed<\/strong> to control the outbreak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kathmandu Valley and Kavrepalanchok have recorded a substantial share of the losses. In these areas alone, officials have destroyed <strong>286,277 birds<\/strong>, <strong>179,064 eggs<\/strong>, and <strong>74,000 kilograms of poultry feed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Upadhyay said field inspections have been completed in high-risk locations, and joint assessment reports prepared by federal and local authorities have guided response measures.
