Kathmandu, July 6:<\/strong> The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said monsoon conditions remain active across the country, with moderate to heavy rainfall likely in several provinces today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the Division, the country is currently under the influence of monsoon winds. The monsoon trough is positioned south of its average location over eastern Nepal and near its normal position over western Nepal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At present, the weather is generally cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while Madhesh Province is partly cloudy. Moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is already occurring at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions are expected to remain generally cloudy. The Terai areas of Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces will also see generally cloudy conditions, while the Terai of Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati provinces will remain partly cloudy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Division has forecast light to moderate rain with thunderstorms at many places, with moderate to heavy rainfall possible in some areas. Strong winds are also likely at a few places in the Terai of Madhesh Province and in parts of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tonight, generally cloudy conditions are expected across the country.
