He said the government is ready to continue discussions and cooperation with media stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/07\/extra-phota-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-432164\" srcset=\"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/07\/extra-phota-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/07\/extra-phota-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/07\/extra-phota-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/07\/extra-phota.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Communication Minister Dr. Timilsina said press freedom is a cornerstone of democracy and reaffirmed the government&#8217;s commitment to protecting the constitutional rights to press freedom and freedom of expression. He stressed that journalists should continue to hold the government accountable, but reporting must be based on facts, evidence and professional ethics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister said the challenges facing the media sector require a comprehensive solution, including reforms in government advertising, media financing, legal provisions, journalists&#8217; professional security and institutional development.
