Biratnagar, July 5:<\/strong> Home Minister Sudhan Gurung conducted an inspection visit to Morang on Saturday, reviewing the security situation along the Nepal\u2013India border and assessing the condition of government offices and police infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the visit, Minister Gurung inspected the District Administration Office (DAO) Morang, the Jogbani border checkpoint at Rani in Biratnagar, the Biratnagar Customs Office, and the District Police Office. He also met with security officials to discuss border management, law enforcement, and the district’s overall security environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Home Minister visited the construction site of the new District Administration Office building, where he was briefed by Morang Chief District Officer Yuba Raj Kattel on the district’s administrative affairs, public service delivery, and prevailing security situation. Gurung emphasized the need to operate integrated public services from the DAO premises to improve efficiency and convenience for citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He also held discussions with province-level security officials on strengthening border security, controlling criminal activities, enhancing police mobilization, and addressing emerging security challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As part of the inspection, the Home Minister visited the Integrated Check Post (ICP) under the Biratnagar Customs Office. After reviewing customs operations, security arrangements, and revenue-related activities, he stressed the importance of effective coordination among concerned agencies to curb illegal cross-border trade and transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Minister Gurung further inspected police custody facilities, barracks, and other physical infrastructure at the District Police Office.
