Pokhara, May 10 \u2014 Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Surendra Raj Pandey has said that the government is working to address the problems faced by transport entrepreneurs and workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inaugurating the Seventh National Convention of the Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs National Federation (NTENF) in Pokhara on Sunday, Chief Minister Pandey stressed the need for coordination among the government, private sector and workers to strengthen the transport industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said such cooperation is essential for the sustainable development of the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the occasion, Inspector General of Nepal Police Dan Bahadur Karki expressed concern over the rising number of road accidents, noting that around eight people lose their lives daily. He said human error and technical issues were the main causes behind most incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NTENF President Bijay Bahadur Swar said frequent accidents have discouraged investment and slowed business growth in the transport sector. He called for greater professionalism and unity among transport entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lawmakers, provincial ministers and other speakers at the event also emphasized the need for effective government intervention to resolve long-standing issues in the transport sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The convention has brought together around 2,000 delegates and observers from transport committees, companies and cooperatives across the country. The election of new leadership is scheduled for May 12.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
