{"id":428941,"date":"2026-04-28T10:19:22","date_gmt":"2026-04-28T04:34:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/?p=428941"},"modified":"2026-04-28T10:20:26","modified_gmt":"2026-04-28T04:35:26","slug":"two-firms-fined-for-breaching-consumer-protection-rules-in-kathmandu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/2026\/04\/28\/428941.html","title":{"rendered":"Two firms fined for breaching consumer protection rules in Kathmandu"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kathmandu, April 28: The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has fined two firms for violating business regulations during recent market monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acting under the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 and the Consumer Protection Regulation, 2076, the department imposed fines after the businesses were found operating against fair trade practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the department, West Shopping Centre in Thamel and Kantipur Caf\u00e9 at Tribhuvan International Airport were fined Rs 205,000 each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, Goodluck Trekking Shop in Thamel has been instructed to appear before the department with the necessary business documents for further clarification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the same monitoring drive, 43 other business establishments were directed to improve their operations and comply with consumer protection standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The inspection was carried out by a team from the department in coordination with consumer rights activists and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The department said it has been continuing regular market monitoring to ensure fair pricing and protect consumer rights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, April 28: The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has fined two firms for violating business regulations during recent market monitoring.
