He commended ongoing efforts to promote Chinese language education in Nepal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Deepak Aryal, noted that Chinese language teaching at the university dates back to 1961. He said institutional frameworks have helped expand academic cooperation with Chinese universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Around 700 students are currently studying Chinese through 14 teaching centres across Nepal, with plans to introduce undergraduate programmes and expand research and exchange initiatives, Aryal added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representatives from East China University of Technology and Qinghai Minzu University highlighted the role of language in fostering intercultural dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme featured cultural performances and activities including calligraphy, paper-cutting and tea appreciation sessions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>April 27, Kathmandu: International Chinese Language Day 2026 was observed in Kathmandu on Sunday, bringing together educators, diplomats and students to highlight growing Nepal\u2013China educational ties.
