Nawalpur (Nawalparasi Purba), April 13: The Agriculture Development Office in Nawalparasi Purba has distributed nearly Rs 450 million in grants to farmers over the past five fiscal years since 2077\/78 BS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Information Officer Bishwas Kafle, a total of 951 farmers in the district benefited from the support. The grant amounts varied widely, ranging from as low as Rs 870 to as high as Rs 50 million, depending on the nature of the programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kafle stated that Jugepani Tamangtol Farmers’ Group received Rs 50 million under the crop insurance scheme. Individual farmers have also received assistance through multiple programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Office has been providing grants for various agricultural activities, including commercial vegetable farming, fruit orchard management and expansion, small-scale farm development, maize seed production, promotion of maize farming, use of advanced agricultural tools, small irrigation projects, and off-season vegetable cultivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Office Chief Rajesh Silwal said priority has been given to highway corridor-focused crop production, emergency and relief programmes, crop-specific training, food promotion projects, and vegetable production initiatives in the current fiscal year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For this fiscal year, the Office has allocated a budget of Rs 51.7 million. Most of the approved programmes have already begun, while others are in the implementation phase, he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
