{"id":427780,"date":"2026-04-08T06:01:43","date_gmt":"2026-04-08T00:16:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/?p=427780"},"modified":"2026-04-08T06:01:47","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T00:16:47","slug":"fnj-calls-for-revision-of-government-advertisement-policy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/2026\/04\/08\/427780.html","title":{"rendered":"FNJ calls for revision of government advertisement policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kathmandu, April 7 \u2014 The Federation of Nepali Journalists has urged the government to revise its recent policy mandating that all public advertisements be published and broadcast exclusively through state-owned media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement issued on Tuesday, the FNJ called on the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to immediately withdraw the circular sent to federal ministries, commissions, secretariats, as well as provincial and local governments enforcing the provision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A delegation of the FNJ also met Minister for Communications and Information Technology Bikram Timilsina, drawing his attention to the need to scrap the newly introduced measure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The umbrella body of working journalists announced plans to intensify consultations, including meetings with its former presidents on Wednesday, editors of national dailies, weeklies and online platforms on Thursday, and parliamentary party leaders on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the FNJ has called on media houses to ensure timely payment of salaries and provision of adequate facilities to journalists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, April 7 \u2014 The Federation of Nepali Journalists has urged the government to revise its recent policy mandating that all public advertisements be published and broadcast exclusively through state-owned media.
