Kathmandu, March 29:<\/em> Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Deepak Kumar Sah has directed authorities to urgently prepare and enforce a comprehensive action plan aimed at reforming and regulating the country\u2019s labour sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While reviewing the Cabinet-approved 100-point good governance action plan on Sunday, the Minister called for immediate steps to streamline labour administration and ensure worker safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Ministry has also introduced a new system replacing the \u2018token\u2019 method, enabling labour permits to be issued on the same day of application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Minister Sah instructed officials to develop digital audio-visual materials based on the Pre-Departure Orientation Training (PDOT) curriculum for migrant workers. He also emphasized enrolling all outgoing workers in the contribution-based social security scheme and strictly enforcing minimum wage provisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Additionally, the Minister called for strengthening the Shramadhan labour call centre and conducting risk assessments in industries to improve occupational health and safety standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He stressed the need to promote production and entrepreneurship to create jobs within the country and directed officials to expand bilateral labour agreements with five more countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Minister has ordered the immediate implementation of the identified priority actions to bring tangible improvements in the labour and employment sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Kathmandu, March 29: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Deepak Kumar Sah has directed authorities to urgently prepare and enforce a comprehensive action plan aimed at reforming and regulating the country\u2019s labour sector.
