The death toll has not yet been confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The accident occurred at Machhanetar in Manthali Municipality when a passenger bus veered off the road and plunged about 50 metres into the Tamakoshi River at around 11:00 am on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Ramechhap District Police Office, five seriously injured passengers were taken to Manthali Hospital for treatment. Police said their condition remains critical and further assessment is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DSP Bhola Bhattarai of the District Police Office said eight other injured passengers were rescued and referred to different hospitals for medical treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police said the bus, bearing registration number Province 3\u201301\u2013005 Kha 465, was heading towards Okhaldhunga from Kathmandu at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bus is currently submerged in the middle of the Tamakoshi River.
