{"id":423794,"date":"2026-01-25T06:58:27","date_gmt":"2026-01-25T01:13:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/?p=423794"},"modified":"2026-01-25T06:58:33","modified_gmt":"2026-01-25T01:13:33","slug":"japanese-envoy-reaffirms-continued-support-for-nepals-development-efforts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/2026\/01\/25\/423794.html","title":{"rendered":"Japanese envoy reaffirms continued support for Nepal\u2019s development efforts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Kathmandu, Jan 24:<\/em> Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Maeda Toru has reiterated Japan\u2019s commitment to continuing its support for Nepal\u2019s development priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at a programme held on Friday to mark the 70th anniversary of Nepal\u2013Japan diplomatic relations and the 52nd anniversary of the JICA Alumni Association Nepal (JAAN), Ambassador Maeda said Japan would extend cooperation in areas such as technical advancement, human resource development, education, communication, road infrastructure and agriculture, in line with the aspirations of the Nepali people. He also emphasized the importance of further strengthening mutual traditions and cultural ties between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the event, JICA Nepal Office Chief Representative Matsuzaki Mizuki said that Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has been supporting Nepal\u2019s development for over four decades across 21 sectors, including health, education, energy, agriculture, and good governance, contributing to peace, prosperity and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JAAN President Dr Ramchandra Bhusal described Japan as a trusted and long-standing development partner of Nepal, providing consistent and selfless support. He said JAAN\u2019s activities reflect the shared intention to deepen Nepal\u2013Japan relations and expressed gratitude for Japan\u2019s assistance in community development, disaster response\u2014particularly during earthquakes\u2014and broader economic, social and cultural progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JAAN Vice President Kiran Rupakheti noted that the Association has functioned for more than five decades as a strong network of trained professionals, drawing inspiration from Japan\u2019s knowledge, discipline, work culture and development philosophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the occasion, separate presentations were made by JICA Nepal Chief Matsuzaki and JAAN President Bhusal on lessons Nepal can learn from Japan, in the context of 70 years of diplomatic ties. JAAN lifelong member and border expert Buddhi Narayan Shrestha was also honoured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>General Secretary of JAAN Shantilakshmi Shakya briefed participants on the Association\u2019s activities over the past year.
