October 24, Kathmandu:<\/strong> The Election Commission of Nepal is currently reviewing documents submitted by 15 new political parties seeking registration.<\/p>\n

According to the commission, 10 parties applied for registration before the announcement of the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, 2026, while five applied afterwards.<\/p>\n

Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai stated that applications meeting the necessary criteria will be approved.<\/p>\n

While applications for party registration can be submitted at any time, there has been a notable surge in new party formations, particularly involving youth participation, following the Gen Z movement, the formation of a new government, and the dissolution of the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n

The commission is thoroughly examining the documents to ensure compliance with the registration process.<\/p>\n
