Kathmandu:<\/strong> The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged political parties and groups to engage in a process of finding a political outlet to the existing transition through impartial and democratic competition based on the public mandate.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a press statement issued today, the NHRC also appealed to civil society, the media, and human rights activists to play a constructive role in facilitating this process. The NHRC has called for upcoming demonstrations announced by various groups to be conducted in a dignified and organized manner.<\/span><\/p>\n

It emphasized the need to put an end to the culture of hate speech by promoting social harmony, and remaining committed to resolving the ongoing political transition through fair competition grounded in the people\u2019s will. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the statement, NHRC Spokesperson Dr Tikaram Pokharel urged the government to strengthen peace, security, and the rule of law in the current context. He also stressed the need for maintaining the morale of security forces and taking necessary measures with patience and responsibility. <\/span><\/p>\n

The NHRC warned that violent activities and hate speech could jeopardize social harmony and undermine the political environment. Such actions, it noted, would have a detrimental impact on peace, security, and the rule of law. <\/span><\/p>\n

The NHRC further stated that protecting public and private property, upholding the rule of law, promoting social goodwill, and ensuring a political resolution through impartial democratic processes based on the civic mandate are responsibilities of the State. “At the same time, it is the duty of citizens to support and facilitate such efforts.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
