Kathmandu, September 16:<\/strong> The Embassy of Israel in Nepal recently coordinated a two-week volunteer mission by Heroes for Life, an Israeli NGO, involving 68 volunteers from Israel. The mission targeted eight government and public schools in the Kathmandu valley, along with the Tulasi Foundation, focusing on educational enhancement and school renovations.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The volunteers were divided into two groups of 34, each working at four schools. The initiative honoured the memory of First Sergeant Amit Most, killed in the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack, and Tamar Ariel, who lost her life while trekking in Nepal\u2019s Annapurna region. The mission emphasised two key areas: introducing creative learning activities to inspire innovative thinking among students and undertaking renovation projects, including painting and creating artistic murals.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Heroes for Life has been volunteering in Nepal since 2017 and returns annually to the same schools with new volunteers to maintain continuity and impact. This year, the program expanded to include three additional schools, broadening its reach. The volunteers also dedicated a full day to community service at the Tulasi Foundation in Lalitpur, led by Saru Subedi, a former worker in Israel. Activities included painting and renovating the facility while engaging with the children under the foundation\u2019s care.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The host schools and organisations said this sort of collaboration strengthens people-to-people connections between Nepal and Israel, reinforcing their enduring friendship. Ambassador Shmulik Arie Bass of Israel expressed pride in the volunteers\u2019 dedication, the participating schools, and the collaborating organisations. \u201cIsrael will always be ready to assist Nepal. Giving to friends means much more to us, Israelis,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
