September 10, Kathmandu:<\/strong> The Nepali community, joined by students from over ten nationalities, on Tuesday held a candlelight procession outside the United Nations Office in Geneva, Switzerland, to pay tribute to the youths who lost their lives during the protests in Nepal on September 8. <\/span><\/span><\/span>The solemn gathering also served as a powerful call for human rights, peace, and democracy in Nepal.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The vigil brought together students from the Geneva Graduate Institute and the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, with participants from diverse countries including Germany, Thailand, Canada, Georgia, Italy, Austria, India, Pakistan, Japan, Nigeria, and Turkey. This international show of solidarity underscored the global resonance of Nepal\u2019s ongoing struggle for justice and dignity.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Held in front of one of the world\u2019s leading hubs for human rights advocacy, the procession sent a clear message: the fight for fundamental freedoms in Nepal is a universal concern. The event emphasised the need for collective action to restore peace, protect human rights, and prevent further violations in Nepal.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Organisers expressed their willingness to share additional details, photographs, or connect media with participants to amplify the message of the vigil. The gathering in Geneva reflects growing global attention to Nepal\u2019s recent protests and the broader call for peace and democratic values.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
