{"id":414945,"date":"2025-08-15T17:32:02","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T11:47:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/?p=414945"},"modified":"2025-08-15T20:22:38","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T14:37:38","slug":"mps-draw-govts-attention-on-contemporary-issues","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/2025\/08\/15\/414945.html","title":{"rendered":"MPs draw govt&#8217;s attention on contemporary issues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, Aug 15:\u00a0 The National Assembly (NA) members have drawn the government&#8217;s attention towards various contemporary issues including natural disasters, inflation and corruption, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the Special Hour of the NA&#8217;s meeting today, Nepali Congress&#8217;s (NC) Kiranbabu Shrestha urged the government to address the anomalies and abbreviations that have surfaced along with the development of communication and technology.<\/p>\n<p>He insisted that we should make proper use of communication and technology rather than misusing it and gradually eliminating the anomalies prevailing in the communication sector.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, despite the political changes in the country, the condition of people had not improved yet.<\/p>\n<p>He, thus, called for unity among the political parties to bring about positive changes in the lives of people along with ensuring economic prosperity in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Jagat Prasad Sharma viewed that we should focus on strengthening federalism, arguing that federalism is a foundation for building socialism, not division.<\/p>\n<p>CPN (Unified Socialist)&#8217;s Rajendra Laxmi Gaire cited that 122 people died and 22 were missing in the natural disasters in the last four months and stressed on effective disaster preparedness.<\/p>\n<p>Gaire also demanded that those affected by natural disasters such as landslide, floods and earthquake must be provided relief immediately.<\/p>\n<p>Also, airing his views, NC&#8217;s Padam Bahadur Pariyar said that the political parties and leadership that strove for political change should be sincere in ensuring rule of law in the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221;The current political leadership understands the history of Nepal and has fought for a change. But it seems to lack energy and enthusiasm to address the contemporary issues,&#8221; he lamented.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, CPN (Maoist Centre)&#8217;s Shree Krishna Adhikari called for prompt action on the part of government to resume the landslide-obstructed Araniko Highway.<\/p>\n<p>He also cautioned towards the likelihood of price hike ahead of upcoming festivals.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I urge the government to ensure the operation of the disrupted roads, curb inflation and black marketeering and facilitate the return of citizens through southern border during the festival season,&#8221; he appealed.<\/p>\n<p>CPN (UML)&#8217;s Rukmini Koirala noted that there was growing dissatisfaction among public towards the incumbent government due to its failure to meet public&#8217;s aspirations.<\/p>\n<p>Emphasizing the need to empower local government thereby further strengthening federalism, Koirala voiced, &#8220;The government should be serious towards addressing fundamental issues such as education reform, job creation, quality healthcare services, commercialization of agriculture and industrialization among others.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu, Aug 15:\u00a0 The National Assembly (NA) members have drawn the government&#8217;s attention towards various contemporary issues including natural disasters, inflation and corruption, among others.
