July 21, Kathmandu:<\/strong> Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel met Chen Xiaodong, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), at the Ministry of Finance to discuss bilateral ties and development cooperation, focusing on Chinese-aided projects in Nepal. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Agreements for four projects were signed. As per the agreements, a bone marrow transplant centre will be built at B.P. Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital in Chitwan, covering 1,834 square meters with medical equipment to improve cancer treatment. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Likewise, another agreement is for a feasibility study to explore expanding the Civil Service Hospital. Meanwhile, an agreement has been made to allow 1,270 Nepali government employees to attend training seminars in China. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Similarly, a feasibility study for the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung cross-border transmission line was signed by Nepal Electricity Authority\u2019s Hitendra Dev Shakya and Chen Xiaodong. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

DPM Paudel thanked Chen for his visit, noting that such engagements strengthen Nepal-China relations. Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyaya said the projects will enhance healthcare, skills, and energy trade, expressing hope for further Chinese infrastructure support.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Chen pledged China\u2019s aid for rebuilding flood-damaged infrastructure in Rasuwa, promising to streamline customs processes. He also praised Nepal\u2019s flood response efforts. DPM Paudel emphasised reconstruction as a priority, highlighting Rasuwa\u2019s role in trade and revenue, and committed to swift action.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
