The 2025 theme, \u201cRestore the Land, Unlock the Opportunities,\u201d calls for restoring 1.5 billion hectares of degraded land worldwide to enhance job creation, food security, water security, and economic growth.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"css-146c3p1 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-37j5jr r-a023e6 r-16dba41 r-1adg3ll r-1b5gpbm r-a8ghvy\" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\"><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3 r-a8ghvy\">In Nepal, the day is marked with programs raising awareness about land degradation and drought. Soil fertility in the hilly and Terai regions is declining due to deforestation, overgrazing, and excessive use of chemical fertilisers.
