May 29, Kathmandu: <\/strong>Nepal\u2019s first Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program, a U.S. government-supported initiative, was launched today in Kathmandu to empower women entrepreneurs and strengthen economic ties between the United States and Nepal. The program equips women with tools to grow their businesses and drive local economic prosperity.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The three-day residential bootcamp, led by prominent Nepali business leaders and the American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham), provides 30 selected women entrepreneurs with world-class training, mentorship, and resources. Powered by the globally recognised \u201cNajafi 100 Million Learners\u201d course, AWE offers practical tools for innovation and job creation in local communities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

U.S. Ambassador to Nepal Dean R. Thompson, speaking at the launch, described AWE as \u201ca movement, not just a program,\u201d stating that \u201cwhen women are empowered, economies grow, communities flourish, and lasting partnerships take root.\u201d The initiative supports American and Nepali businesses by fostering trade, collaboration, and growth, while enabling Nepali women to establish thriving ventures within their own communities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
