According to Dhungana&#8217;s private secretary Dr. Rudra Sharma, Dhungana\u00a0breathed his last in the course of the treatment at Baneshwor-based Frontline Hospital at 1:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-394947 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/Dammanath-Dhungana.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/Dammanath-Dhungana.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/Dammanath-Dhungana-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/Dammanath-Dhungana-768x384.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dhungana, also the senior advocate, was battling with liver-related issues for some time. He was elected the House of Representative (HoR) member from the Kathmandu electoral constituency-2 during the 2048 BS (1992) general elections, representing the Nepali Congress. He served as the HoR Speaker from 2048 to 2051 BS.<\/p>\n<p>Dhungana who contributed significantly to the country&#8217;s democratic movement was jailed time and again by the Panchayati rulers during his political career. He is survived by his spouse, a daughter, and two sons.
