{"id":344724,"date":"2023-01-24T09:08:43","date_gmt":"2023-01-24T03:23:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onlineradionepal.gov.np\/en\/?p=344724"},"modified":"2023-01-24T09:14:53","modified_gmt":"2023-01-24T03:29:53","slug":"india-nepal-development-partnership-conclave-held-in-kathmandu-audio-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/2023\/01\/24\/344724.html","title":{"rendered":"India-Nepal Development Partnership Conclave held in Kathmandu (audio report)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/onlineradionepal.gov.np\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/325954232_850451009549456_2383784494784366000_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-344725\" srcset=\"https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/325954232_850451009549456_2383784494784366000_n.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/325954232_850451009549456_2383784494784366000_n-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/radionepalonline.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/325954232_850451009549456_2383784494784366000_n-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>January 24, Kathmandu: <\/strong>The Embassy of India in collaboration with the Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS) on Monday organized a one-day &#8216;India-Nepal Development Partnership Conclave&#8217; to discuss the history and the future of India-Nepal development endeavours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing the conclave, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Narayankaji Shrestha said that India was the main development partner of Nepal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DPM said, &#8220;Nepal and India have shared a cordial relationship helped by the close cultural affinities between the two countries&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DPM Shrestha mentioned that India built Gaucharan Airport &#8211; now Tribhuvan International Airport- in 1954 as Nepal&#8217;s first airport and Tribhuvan Highway in 1956.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shrestha also said India had been supporting Nepal during dire times including the 2015 earthquake and the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at the conclave, the Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava said that India would leave no stone unturned to provide the necessary development assistance to Nepal to graduate from a Least Developed Country (LDC) category.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Likewise, the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal (GON) Shankardas Bairagi said that various aspects must be considered before starting a development project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief Secretary also lauded the excellent development partnership between Nepal and India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speakers at the event including, Commerce Secretary Madhu Kumar Marasini, Physical Infrastructure, and Transport Secretary Keshab Kumar Sharma, Former Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission Dr Swarnim Wagle, Nepal Electricity Authority&#8217;s MD Kulman Ghising, among others stressed the need to enhance connectivity, trade of energy, and trade balance between Nepal and India.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video controls src=\"https:\/\/onlineradionepal.gov.np\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/326397703_828229161615182_4382555190524046640_n-1.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption><strong><em>Please listen to the audio report by pressing the play button. <\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 24, Kathmandu: The Embassy of India in collaboration with the Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS) on Monday organized a one-day &#8216;India-Nepal Development Partnership Conclave&#8217; to discuss the history and the future of India-Nepal development endeavours.
