CIB informs parliament of MP Sharma’s arrest

August 11, Kathmandu: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has informed the Federal Parliament Secretariat about the arrest of Member of Parliament (MP) Sunil Kumar Sharma.

Chief of CIB and Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Nepal Police Kiran Bajracharya has written to the HoR Speaker about the arrest of Sharma as per Article 103 (6) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Sharma, elected from Morang Constituency No. 3 under the first past the post electoral system from the Nepali Congress, was arrested as per the law since the investigation was deemed needed on a charge of fake certificate of academic qualification.

According to CIB, some of the doctors have received registration from Nepal Medical Council by submitting fake academic certificates from India and attending the exams conducted by the Council for registration certificates.

Likewise, Sharma’s certificate of I.Sc. was not verified by the National Examinations Board, Sano Thimi, Bhaktapur. RSS
