DDC products promotion discussed in cabinet meeting

Kathmandu: The government has taken a special initiative to promote indigenous products as a source of national pride.

In today’s cabinet meeting, an in-depth discussion was held on ways to ensure nationwide promotion and market expansion of the products of the government-owned Dairy Development Corporation (DDC).

Minister for Agriculture, Forest, and Environment Geeta Chaudhary raised the DDC product promotion agenda as a major issue in the cabinet meeting.

In the meeting, Minister Chaudhary emphasised that priority should be given to the consumption and promotion of DDC products for the protection of national dairy products, promotion of farmers’ interests and professional strengthening of the corporation.

She mentioned that coordination among various government agencies is necessary to develop DDC into a more competitive, high-quality, and self-reliant organisation.

She also emphasised the need for proper management of milk collected from dairy farmers in the country and the need for necessary support from the government level to ensure a market for the product.
