Supreme Court to remain open during election holiday for habeas corpus hearings

Kathmandu: The Supreme Court of Nepal will remain open during the three-day election holiday beginning March 4.

The court will also stay open on March 8, a public holiday marking International Women’s Day.

According to the court administration, services will be available for a specified period to ensure continuity of hearings related to writs of habeas corpus.

Supreme Court Spokesperson Arjun Koirala said the court will operate from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on public holidays. He said habeas corpus petitions, which concern personal liberty and fundamental rights, are heard even during holidays.

The court has urged concerned individuals to seek services within the designated hours.
