Lumbini Lions Beat Biratnagar Kings by Five Wickets in NPL

Kathmandu, Dec 3: Lumbini Lions secured a five-wicket victory over Biratnagar Kings in today’s Nepal Premier League match, marking their third win of the tournament.

Chasing a target of 145 runs set by Biratnagar, Lumbini reached the total with five wickets in hand. D’Arcy Short starred with the bat, scoring a match-high 75 runs. For Biratnagar, captain Sandeep Lamichhane and Subhas Bhandari claimed two wickets each, while Basir Ahmad picked up one.

Earlier, Biratnagar Kings posted 144 runs for eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs after being invited to bat first at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Lokesh Bam top-scored with 35 runs, followed by Basir Ahmad with 28 and Sam Heazlett with 27. Lumbini’s Sher Malla impressed with the ball, taking three wickets.

With this win, Lumbini Lions have collected six points, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Biratnagar Kings, with eight points from six matches, also remain in contention for a playoff spot.
