Two people killed in Ilam road accident

Mangalbare: Two people were killed as a scooter collided with a truck in Ilam Municipality-9 along the Mechi Highway on Saturday afternoon.

Police said that two people travelling by the scooter (Pradesh 1-01-012 Pa 4899) died as it collided head on with the Ilam-bound truck (Pradesh 1-01-001 Kha 4101).

The District Police Office, Ilam, shared that the deceased are Debit Thapa Magar, 26, of Ilam Municipality-9 and Chhewang Sherpa, 19, of Maijogmai Rural Municipality in the district.

Police have held the truck driver, Ram Prasad Shrestha, for investigations.
