TUTH emergency department receives 15 additional beds
Kathmandu, July 12: Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) has launched new facilities to make healthcare services more efficient.
In this connection, Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Paudel today inaugurated the emergency department ‘Green Area Ward’ with 15 beds and the ‘Three Tesla MRI’ service with modern technology at the hospital.
On the occasion, Health Minister Paudel expressed confidence that this initiative would contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of the health sector in the country. Minister Paudel stated, “The additional service will enable several citizens to receive affordable and accessible health care services. In the coming days, the Ministry will support the expansion of services and the modernisation of hospitals.”
Director at the Hospital, Prof Dr Subash Acharya, mentioned that the hospital has received a modern MRI machine with the help of the Ministry. With this service in place, patients will no longer have to run elsewhere to get the service at an exorbitant price.
There was a shortage of beds in the emergency room, and at times, two people had to be admitted to a single bed, but now the issue will also be addressed with the addition of beds and facilities, he shared.
