Nepali coffee leaving a mark in international arena
November 19, Kathmandu: The National Tea and Coffee Development Board is set to host the National Coffee Day on November 22, at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu. This event will showcase Nepali coffee by featuring stalls operated by coffee entrepreneurs, offering a variety of coffee brews and tastes.
The day will highlight the efforts of coffee cooperative associations and delve into the current state of Nepal’s coffee sector, policy frameworks, and prospects, as shared by executive director Benupraj Prasai.
The event will recognize and reward high-yielding coffee-producing organizations, farmer entrepreneurs, and district and coffee cooperative associations.
Deepak Khanal, director of the board, highlighted that Nepali coffee is gaining recognition in the international market for its taste and quality, commanding an average price of $16 per kg.
